Granting Areas
The Cedar Tree Foundation makes grants in the following areas of concern:
Environmental Education
Environmental Health
Sustainable Agriculture
We give particular consideration to proposals demonstrating strong elements of environmental justice and/or conservation within the program areas listed above.
How To Apply
The Cedar Tree Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals. We welcome letters of inquiry as described below. Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we only respond to those that we might like to pursue further. Requests for proposals do not indicate that a grant will be awarded.
If Cedar Tree staff do not contact you to discuss your proposal, you may assume that your projects are not a good fit for the Foundation at this time.
Letters of Inquiry: Format
Letters of inquiry should be no longer than three pages in length, not including a financial attachment, and should include:
1) Project summary & description of the problem you are addressing
2) Goals for the proposed period of the grant request
3) Tactics and strategies you will use to achieve those goals
4) Project budget or organizational budget (up to two additional pages)
In the interest of conservation we are now accepting letters of inquiry by email. You may submit your letter of inquiry to: loi@cedartreefound.org
In the alternative, you may send letters of inquiry by mail to the address below:
